The Debate: Did Pope Francis Say, “Jesus Failed at the Cross” ?

For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely- Jeremiah 6:13 (KJV).

One of the most shocking statements uttered from the lips of Pope Francis yet:

And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.” (FULL TRANSCRIPT BELOW)

There are people suggesting that what the Pope said might have been taken out of context, or perhaps he meant something different. After I heard it and read his statement, I too, was SHOCKED. But, one must know, the translation was approved and released by the Vatican. Meaning, the news agency did not hire their own interpreter to translate the speech. So, did the pope say…
